AI-Assisted Customer Journey: Analysis & Enablement

Make your website ready for an AI-assisted customer journey.

You know why customers choose you. Can an AI assistant see it too, and act on it? If your website leaves key questions unanswered or makes the next step difficult, AI assistants may overlook your strengths, and customers may go elsewhere. We test how well AI understands your offer and whether it can complete the next step — a booking, an enquiry, a sign-up — then make targeted fixes so AI can present your business accurately and help customers move forward.

The Problem

More customers are using AI assistants and agents to research companies, compare offers, evaluate products and services, and decide what to do next.

A website can work perfectly well for a human visitor while still being difficult for an AI agent to interpret reliably. Important information may be ambiguous, spread across multiple pages, hidden behind complex interfaces, or simply missing.

The result: an AI agent may misunderstand your offer, fail to determine whether you are a good fit, overlook important proof points, or recommend a competitor whose information is easier to interpret.

The question is no longer only “Does my website work for humans and search engines?” It is increasingly also: “Can AI agents correctly understand, evaluate, and interact with my business?”

How We Help

Lay the technical foundations. We start by checking whether AI agents can reach, read, and correctly interpret your website at all — crawler access, page rendering, structured data, and machine-readable content.

Identify what matters. Building on that, we define the customer journeys and questions that matter most to your business — from discovering your company to evaluating an offer or taking the next step.

Test the current experience. We test how AI assistants and agents handle those real customer intents — combining automated testing across leading AI engines with hands-on retrieval checks — and identify where they succeed, fail, or produce incomplete or inaccurate results. Where useful, we also give you a short set of prompts to try yourself in the consumer AI apps your own customers use.

Find the gaps. We determine why those failures occur — whether the issue is content, information architecture, technical accessibility, structured data, missing information, or the way important actions are exposed.

Improve the highest-value areas. We recommend the smallest effective changes first. Depending on the problem, this may mean improving existing pages, restructuring information, adding machine-readable data, or creating a dedicated agent-facing experience.

Validate the improvement. Where changes are implemented, the original scenarios are tested again to measure whether agent performance has actually improved — immediately for what your website directly controls, and again a few weeks later for results that depend on AI search indexes catching up.

Who It’s For

This engagement is particularly relevant for companies whose website plays an important role in:

  • Customer discovery and lead generation
  • Product or service evaluation
  • Customer qualification
  • Booking and reservations
  • Quote and inquiry requests

Typical clients include organizations where the website is a critical part of the customer journey, but there is no dedicated product, AI, or web platform team responsible for making that journey work effectively for AI agents.

What You Get

The engagement helps you answer three practical questions:

  • Can AI agents correctly understand and use our website for the customer journeys that matter?
  • Where are they failing — and why?
  • Which changes are worth making now, and which are not?

Typical outcomes include:

  • A clear view of how AI agents currently interpret your business
  • Identification of important customer intents that are not being served reliably
  • Concrete examples of agent failures and missed opportunities
  • A prioritized set of improvements based on business impact
  • Recommendations covering content, website structure, structured data, and technical architecture
  • Where relevant, a way for agents to complete actions on your customers' behalf — not just read about them
  • Optional implementation of selected improvements
  • Before/after validation to measure the effect

Engagement Options

The three options build on each other: each one starts from the results of the previous one, so you can begin with the foundations and decide on the next step once you've seen the findings.

1. Agent Readiness Audit

A technical analysis that lays the foundations: can AI agents reach, read, and correctly interpret your website? We look at crawler access, page rendering, structured data, and machine-readable content — the technical groundwork, before looking at customer journeys.

2. Customer Journey Analysis

Building on the audit, we look at your business through your customers' eyes: what they are looking for, which questions they need answered, and what they should be able to do next — a booking, an enquiry, a sign-up. We test how well AI assistants handle these journeys, diagnose why they fail, and prioritize the improvements that matter most.

3. Agent Experience Pilot

Hands-on implementation of the prioritized outcomes from the audit and the customer journey analysis — from technical fixes and clearer content to a way for agents to complete actions like booking or ordering where that's justified — followed by before/after validation.

Detailed scope, timeline, and pricing are provided based on your website, business objectives, and technical environment.

Vendor-Neutral by Design

This is not traditional SEO with an AI label, and it does not start by selling you another software platform.

The objective is to understand where a real problem exists and choose the most appropriate solution. For some companies, improving the existing website may be enough. Others may benefit from structured data, feeds, APIs, or a dedicated machine-facing representation.

The solution is designed around your customer journeys and existing technology — not around a predetermined tool.

Common Questions

How much of my own time do I need to invest?

For the Agent Readiness Audit, very little — it is a technical analysis that runs independently. The Customer Journey Analysis starts with a 60–90 minute kick-off workshop to define your priority customer intents, plus a review and decision step once findings are ready — either a 60–90 minute session or, for fast-moving teams, a short round of decisions as findings arrive. For the Agent Experience Pilot: approval of any new or restructured content before it goes live. Testing and analysis run independently.

What is required from my side?

A business or marketing stakeholder who knows your customers and website objectives, and a technical contact where needed. No production credentials are required for the audit; implementation packages may need access to your CMS, repository, or hosting.

What phases and deliverables should I expect?

Three steps that build on each other. First, the Agent Readiness Audit: a technical analysis of how AI agents access and interpret your website. Second, the Customer Journey Analysis: an intent workshop, testing of your key customer journeys with AI assistants, root-cause diagnosis, prioritized recommendations, and a review and decision step. Third, the optional Agent Experience Pilot: implementation of the prioritized improvements with before/after validation. Deliverables include a technical audit report, an agent intent map, an agent readiness scorecard with raw test evidence, a prioritized recommendation backlog, and, for implementation work, a before/after validation report (delivered in two parts, since visibility results take longer to confirm than content results).

How long do the results last, and what follow-up is needed?

AI platforms and websites evolve, so agent readiness is a state to maintain, not a one-time certificate. The same intent test suite can be re-run periodically or after significant changes to catch regressions and new gaps.

Is this SEO?

No. Success is measured against actual agent task completion on real customer intents — whether agents can understand, evaluate, and act on the business — not against search rankings. The approach is vendor-neutral.

I already have a good Cloudflare Agent Readiness score. Do I still need this?

Not necessarily — but the Cloudflare score answers a different question. It's a useful technical baseline: it checks support for emerging standards around content discovery, machine-readable delivery, bot access, authentication, and capability discovery.

This engagement tests whether AI assistants can actually handle the customer journeys that matter to your business — understanding your offer, assessing fit, verifying the facts that matter, finding enough evidence to recommend you, and taking the appropriate next step. A technically well-prepared site can still fail these scenarios. We treat your Cloudflare report as an input and don't repeat checks you've already addressed; if the scenario testing shows everything important already works reliably, you may not need further optimization.

Cloudflare's remediation guidance naturally points toward its own products. Our recommendations are vendor-neutral and focus on the changes that are actually justified for your business and fit your existing technology.

Does this require rebuilding our website?

No. We work within your existing platform — WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Squarespace, a headless CMS, or a custom-built site. Content and structural optimizations are built directly into your site. If the project includes agent actions, they typically run through a small service connected to your platform. Either way, no rebuild is needed.
